The Aspen Institute is a global nonprofit organization committed to realizing a free, just, and equitable society. Founded in 1949, the Institute drives change through dialogue, leadership, and action to help solve the most important challenges facing the United States and the world.
Aspen Digital, a program of The Aspen Institute, empowers policy-makers, civic organizations, companies, and the public to be responsible stewards of technology and media in the service of an informed, just, and equitable world.
One of the ways they do that is through The Digital Equity Accelerator. In collaboration with HP Inc., the accelerator aims to advance nonprofits working on the frontlines to close the digital equity gap and ensure connection for all. More families than ever are falling behind in an increasingly digital world, where innovation benefits only those with access. Most tech systems were built to serve majority groups. Communities that have historically experienced marginalization continue to be denied the representation, educational opportunities, and resources necessary to grow and thrive in the digital economy.
Blue Sky Partners is working in collaboration with Aspen Digital to produce and manage The Digital Equity Accelerator where six established nonprofits in the United States, India, and Morocco are invited to join a four-month, virtual program to scale their on-the-ground efforts to advance digital equity. This accelerator will focus on organizations working to improve access, literacy, representation, and skills.
